Our Program

Curriculum

The HOPE Academies use proven curriculum approaches. Our curriculum was developed using research-based practices that are supported by leading experts in the curriculum-development field.
  • Our curriculum is based on national standards. This helps students prepare for the national standardized tests we administer each fall and spring, and helps make our curriculum compatible with those in other states.

  • Our curriculum is also aligned with the State of Ohio standards used to produce the Ohio Proficiency Test, Ohio Achievement Test, and Ohio Graduation Test. Aligning our curriculum helps students learn the skills they need to perform well on these important state tests.

  • To deliver the curriculum at HOPE Academies, we augment traditional teaching methods with state-of-the-art classroom and lab-setting PCs running specially designed curriculum software that integrates coursework at all grade levels.

The HOPE Academies and Riverside Academy are community schools established under Chapter 3314 of the Revised Code. These schools are public schools and students enrolled in and attending the schools are required to take proficiency tests and other examinations prescribed by law. In addition, there may be other requirements for students at the schools that are prescribed by law. Students who have been excused from the compulsory attendance law for the purpose of home education as defined by the Administrative Code shall no longer be excused for that purpose upon their enrollment in a community school. For more information about this matter contact the school administration or the Ohio Department of Education.
